GreenFirst to reduce lumber duty deposit rate to 7.99%.

From August 2, GreenFirst Forest Products will reduce its lumber duty deposit rate to 7.99% from 20.23%.

The US (Department of Commerce) DoC's final decision on Canadian softwood lumber imports for 2021 pushed the company to reduce the rate.

The DoC's decision decreased GreenFirst’s earnings and related overpayment of lumber duties with other Canadian exporters.
