Finnish timber and forest product imports and exports saw a decrease in the first 8 months of 2023 compared to the same period in the previous year.

The imported timber included 47% pulpwood, 29% wood chips, 12% fuelwood, 10% wood processing residues, and 2% logs.
In August 2023, the export value of Finnish forest industry products was EUR 0.96 billion, marking an 18% decrease in real terms from the average monthly export value in 2022.
The August imports comprised 47% pulpwood, 29% chips, 12% fuelwood, and 10% by-products wood, while logs comprised 2% of the total.
