China declined furniture trade with the EU by 19% in January-September.

n the first 9 months of 2022, the value of Chinese wood furniture exports to the EU fell by 19% to $3.153 billion compared to the same period in 2021.

The exports of wooden furniture to the UK fell by 23% to $974 million, which impacted the development of all deliveries.

Compared to 2021, the exports of wooden furniture from China to Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Italy, and Denmark fell by 19%, 8%, 19%, 3%, 37%, 25%, 26%, and 27%, respectively.

The total value of Chinese wooden furniture exports grew by 6% to $19.61 billion compared to the same period in 2021 but, deliveries to the largest importer, the United States, fell by 7% to $5.49 billion.

The imports of wooden furniture from EU countries to China, in the same period, fell by 6% to $548 million, and imports of wooden furniture from Italy also fell by 4% to $325 million.

Chinese imports of wooden furniture from Germany, Poland, and Lithuania reached $89 million, $38 million, and $11 million, respectively, which is 19%, 2%, and 59% respectively lesser than in 2021.

However, China's wood furniture imports from France and Denmark grew 10% and 52% to $17 million and $10 million, respectively.
