Danish industry collaboration looks to increase recycling by 2030.

Various Danish fashion and textiles companies, including Bestseller and Ganni, have signed up to a new agreement that obliges companies in the industry to increase sector recycling by 2030. The initiative, announced ahead of Copenhagen Fashion Week by the Danish environmental agency Miljøstyrelsen, will form part of the international Textiles Action Network, which also includes the UK’s Textiles 2030 program led by waste recycling charity WRAP. 
The Danish agreement aims to reduce the amount of clothing going to landfills and includes a commitment that all clothing from participating companies will consist of at least 40% recycled material by 2030. A key player in this collaboration is The Textiles Action Network which aims to become the first international framework tackling the environmental impacts caused by fashion and textiles. It encompasses the UK’s Textiles 2030 and Lifestyle & Design Cluster (LDC), which promotes innovation and sustainable growth primarily in the small and medium-sized housing and fashion companies and the creative industries. It will represent the interests of the Danish industry collaboration.
